Part Six: Black Tie. Traditionally a dress code worn only for events after 7pm. Black tie, is not as formal as White tie; however, it is much dressier then informal or business dress (don't confuse this with smart casual.) With so many different dress codes, I have chosen to focus on Black tie in this instalment. I find Black tie to be the dress code most people struggle with; trying to meet that balance between business and white tie.

Look one is a classic and elegant look. I chose to make a statement with a bold berry coloured one shouldered gown from Zimmermann. A structured yet feminine and flattering cut on most women this dress is perfect for any formal events. The draped bodice and skirt along with the frilled shoulder make this dress a stand out piece. To keep the dress as the centre of attention I have chosen neutral accessories. The nude 'Alita' heels from Tony Bianco compliment perfectly. To complete the look Mimco was the destination for the clutch, drop earrings and classic bangle. Very simplistic, gold pieces sit well against the berry and are not over powering.
Look two is a much more fluid. Layers on layers of silk linen, the high neckline and floor length finish of this Aje. dress would be stunning for an upcoming black tie event. The pattern is subtle enough to take to an event but fun enough for someone who likes to add drama. I chose to have a bit more fun with the styling of look two. I went for velvet grey pumps from RMK Shoes. The soft pink clutch from Macy by Olga (purchased through The Iconic) adds a pop of colour to the monotoned dress and it has a 'water droplet' effect to add another element of texture. To tie the look together I went for rose gold accessories from my favs at Mimco, the large perplex drop earrings and trance bracelet complete the look.
