In this months blog edition, I would like to share some of the basic styling tips I follow on a daily basis and while shopping. I have these saved in my phone for quick reference and a reminder of what I know works, to make my everyday wardrobe choices so much easier.
I know that it can be difficult to follow a long list of tips when we are busy or feeling flustered and unorganised so use them as a guide for when you're feeling stuck!
- Wear activewear at the gym. Workout and then change
- The wider your pants, the longer the hem should be
- Cinch a belt in at your true waist (smallest part of your torso) it will accentuate your figure
- "Mary Janes" will shorten your legs
- Invest in a hip bag with a long strap so that it brushes your hip - find one that still fits the necessities
- Deep V necklines are extremely flattering on women EXCEPT in a tee or jumper. Go for a crew neckline - Own leopard print, it is a great base for any outfit
- Stick to earrings and bracelets when wearing a higher neckline, keep necklaces for low cut or v neckline garments
- Don't wear thongs if you're not near water
- Wear lipstick whenever you leave the house, even just a nude tone. It will complete any look
- Own a white t-shirt, they are the most versatile item of clothing you will ever own!
- Always buy what fits and is comfortable. Don't worry about what size the label says
- If an item needs to be altered, have it tailored. They will look more flattering and you will feel more comfortable without having to sacrifice an item you love
- Be rid of brown, try camel or tan as a neutral
- Prepare your outfit the night before
